NHL: Vegas Golden Knights make history

The Vegas Golden Knights continue their triumphal march. The team of coach Gerard Gallant also won the fourth game of the first playoff round (selected playoff matches LIVE on DAZN) against the Los Angeles Kings (1-0) and thus beat Tobias Rieder’s team 4-0 in the best-of-seven series.

The Knights, which have only existed since this season, are thus the first franchise in NHL history to make a sweep in the playoffs in the premiere season.

“Throughout the season we’ve never thought about records from new NHL teams. We only did what any normal team would do – play and try to win,” said goalkeeper Marc-Andre Fleury, who kept his box clean in game 4 in Los Angeles with 31 saves.

Brayden McNabb, who moved from the Kings to Vegas before the season and scored the golden goal to enter the last eight, added: “I really didn’t expect to face the Kings. It feels good, though.”

Meanwhile, the Columbus Blue Jackets lost 2:3 against Washington Capitals after two extra games, reducing their lead in the series to 1-2. Lars Eller won the game, Alex Ovechkin shone with two assists.

In the third game of the night, the Winnipeg Jets defeated Minnesota Wild 2-0, Mark Scheifele scored twice and took Winnipeg 3-1 in the series.
