The New York Giants split up with Brandon Marshall after just one season. The Wide Receiver had not passed a medical check. Does the franchise make room for Dez Bryant?
Before last season, Marshall had signed a 2-year contract for 12 million dollars. Early however, the videout injured his ankle and missed the rest of the disappointing Giants season.
After rumours of the franchise’s interest in Dez Bryant, who had been released in Dallas, Marshall publicly declared that there was “no room” for Bryant with the Giants.
So now there doesn’t seem to be any room for Marshall himself. The Giants save $5.1 million against the salary cap. The 34-year-old Wideout is now entering a difficult market, having played his last really productive season three years ago.
Giants CEO Dave Gettleman had not ruled out Bryant’s recent engagement. The Wideout himself described the Giants as his preferred destination. He would like to meet his former employer twice in the Regular Season.
A video of Bryant posted shortly after Marshall’s release on Instagram will further fuel speculation. The video shows the former cowboy and Giants receiver Odell Beckham Jr. doing a workout.
