NFL: Freeney ends his career

Dwight Freeney ends his career. The 38-year-old, who joined the Detroit Lions in 2017, signs a one-day contract with the Indianapolis Colts to retire as a Colts player.

“It is not the end, but the beginning of something new,” Freeney said: “After 16 incredible years, I decided to end my career. I’m curious to see what life has to offer me now.”

The Defensive End played for Indianapolis between 2002 and 2012 and won the 2006 Super Bowl against the Chicago Bears.

Subsequently, the Connecticut man was under contract to the San Diego Chargers, Arizona Cardinals, Atlanta Falcons, Seattle Seahawks and in 2017 to the Lions.
