NBA: Embiid: Sixers “don’t need anyone anymore”

Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers has commented on the situation of his team. He is convinced of the current strength of the management and believes that no reinforcement is necessary in the future. He also talked about his mask.

“Our time is now,” said the center on Monday. “We have a special team and many great players. I don’t think we need anybody else. “We have to work with what we have – and I have the feeling that we can go far with it.”

This was Embiid’s reaction to the general belief that the Sixers had a great future. He believes that too, but he wants to focus on the present.

In the first round series against the Miami Heat his Sixers lead 3-1 and can make everything clear in the coming night (2 o’clock live on DAZN) in front of home audience. “We need our home fans,” Embiid said. “This is especially true for me – I simply play better in an atmosphere like ours.”

About his fracture of the orbit, which he had closed at the end of the Regular Season and for which he had to wear a mask, the Cameroonian explained: “Hopefully it will get better and I get used to it[the mask]”. He calls his face protection “annoying” and “funny.” However, he does not want to use it as an excuse for possible weak performances.
