The Atlanta Braves will appoint Top Prospect Ronald Acuna to their MLB squad. The Outfielder will make his debut against the Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday.
As several media reports agree, Acuna will start in Left Field, reinforcing a lineup that is already leading the National League with 122 runs. According to MLB Pipeline, Acuna is the second biggest talent this season after Shohei Ohtani of the Angels.
At which point Acuna will beat in the batting order is still unclear, but it seems possible that he will soon hit position 5 – behind Freddie Freeman and newcomer Jose Bautista, who could also join the squad at the end of the week.
Acuna started the season at Triple-A Gwinnett and started the year weak with only five hits from 36 at bats and 14 strikeouts. But finally he caught himself and hit .333 with a homerun in his last 33 At-Bats. In the pre-season, however, the 5-tool player beat .325 with 21 home runs, 44 stolen bases and a .896 OPS in the Minor Leagues.
Acuna’s activation, however, means that Preston Tucker will lose his place in Left Field and become a banker.
