After his defeat against Tony Bellew in March 2017, David Haye now has a chance for revenge. On Saturday, May 5th, there will be a rematch between Bellew and former heavyweight world champion Haye. SPOX gives you the information to broadcast in the live stream and the starting position before the fight.
The rematch was scheduled for December 17th, but Haye injured his arm a month earlier, so that the event now starts in early May.
The heavyweight match between Tony Bellew and David Haye will take place on Saturday 5 May. The preliminaries on that evening will start at 7 pm, so the main event will start at 10 pm at the earliest. The venue is the O2 Arena in London.
In Germany and Austria the streaming portal DAZN shows the fight live and exclusively. The battle over DAZN can also be seen in Switzerland.
The “Netflix des Sports” broadcasts numerous sports competitions live. In addition to football from the European top leagues and games from the NBA, NHL and NFL, DAZN also shows many boxing matches, most recently the world championship duel between Anthony Joshua and Joseph Parker. DAZN costs 9,99 Euro per month, but you can get a free trial month before.
DAZN is not only responsible for the transmission of the fight. The press conference on Thursday before the fight can also be seen on the streaming portal. On Friday there will be the Weigh-In from 1 pm.
The first battle between Bellew and Haye took place on 4 March 2017. Already in the sixth lap Haye went down twice and injured his ankle. From then on Bellew increasingly won control and sent Haye into the ropes at the end of the eleventh round. His coach Shane McGuigan finally threw the towel into the ring, so Bellew won by technical knockout.
Haye then acknowledged Bellev’s victory, as he had been the “far better fighter”.
Tony Bellew was actually at home in the cruiser weight before his first encounter with David Haye and was WBC World Champion there. His fight against Haye was therefore his heavyweight debut. The victory against the former heavyweight champion of the world was therefore a real surprise. In the rematch, Bellew must now confirm that he can also be successful in heavyweight.
David Haye is best known for his provocative appearance. He repeatedly insulted the Klitschko brothers in particular before Vladimir agreed to a fight in which Haye finally lost his WBA title. After another fight, he temporarily ended his career before returning in 2016 after three and a half years.
After two clear victories, Bellew was the first real opponent in 2017 and Haye lost directly. Now he can show in the rematch that he can still keep up despite his 27 years.
