NBA: League confirmed: Paul George wasn’t fouled by Rudy Gobert.

In the Last Two Minute Report, the NBA announced that in Game 6 between Utah Jazz and Oklahoma City Thunder, the controversial no-call against Paul George was correct in the final phase. According to this, Rudy Gobert did not commit a foul during PG-13’s three-way trial.

This was explained by the League in the usual Last Two Minute Report. At the time of the controversial scene, the jazz led with 94:91 with 21 seconds to play. If the referees had committed a foul, George would have had the chance to even the match off the free-throw line.

The league also explained why the missed foul whistle was correct:

“The video with the camera behind the basket shows George Gobert jumping with a pump fake. Gobert jumps to George’s side, while George seeks contact with Gobert through a lateral movement. It is not clear whether contact would have been made without George’s movement to the right.”

Thunder coach Billy Donovan saw this a little differently at the post-match press conference. “Gobert met George very clearly,” the Thunder Coach was sure. “I’m not saying our season is over because of that, but I would have liked to have seen Paul George on the free-throw line. “Most people who have seen the scene would probably say it was a foul.”

Instead, the game went on, the Thunder missed fouling it for a long time. After they finally made it, Donovan Mitchell turned the decisive free throws for jazz.

Utah will now face the Houston Rockets in the Conference Semifinals. Game 1 takes place today at 21:30 (LIVESTREAM FOR FREE) in Texas.
