NBA: Brown: Fultz not “dead and buried”

Brett Brown has commented on the decision not to use Markelle Fultz in Game 1 against Boston Celtics, as he did before. You don’t have to worry about the rookie behind TJ McConell.

Fultz won a DNP at 101-117 – just like Philly’s two previous play-off games. But TJ McConnell saw a few backup minutes on the one. Head Coach Brett Brown explained this with the fact that McConell had contributed important minutes for the team in the Regular Season.

“I had a decision to make – and I made one. But that does not mean that this is set in stone. That’s the kind of thing you keep weighing up.” He also stressed that Fultz’s future was something he always had in mind. And no one has to believe now that Fultz is “dead and buried.”

19-year-old Fultz had missed 68 matches of the Regular Season because he had a shoulder injury. He did not make his comeback until the end of March. The No.1 pick played a total of 7.1 points and 3.8 assists in 14 games.
