MLB: Betts leads Boston Red Sox to victory with three home runs

Outfielder Mookie Betts led the Boston Red Sox (22-8) with three home runs against the Kansas City Royals (8-22) to a narrow home win on Wednesday. By no means a one-off service for beds.

After Betts scored three home runs against the Angels on April 17th, he repeated his performance against the Royals. Betts beat Solo Homuns in the fourth, fifth and seventh innings against starter Danny Duffy, who played a total of four long balls in the game.

This is already the fourth game with three home runs for Betts, making it the most popular of all active players. Most of these games were played by Johnny Mize in the 1930s and 1940s and by Sammy Sosa in the late 1990s and early 00s at six each.

“I know what I can do, and I know I have the ability to drive the ball. And I’m kind of showing that now,” Betts told reporters. “I think it’s rather surprising for everyone else. It’s a little surprising for me, like the last home run today, but I know I can drive the ball. It’s just about using the whole field and hitting it everywhere.”
