Luka Doncic from Real Madrid is one of the hottest contenders for the top pick of this year’s draft. As his agent has now confirmed, the Slovenian will not do any workouts for interested teams before the draft. This is not allowed in the schedule of his team.
As Sean Deveney of Sporting News reports, Doncic will not do a workout before the draft, as Real Madrid has reached the final four in the EuroLeague and this would overlap with possible workouts.
However, Doncic’s consultant does not think that this could be a disadvantage. “I don’t think that’s going to be a problem,” Agent Bill Duffy explained. “The fact that he plays in the EuroLeague speaks for him. What he did shows Luka’s talent. He has significantly more experience than most other prospects. After the NBA, the EuroLeague is just around the corner.”
The Final Four in Belgrade takes place on May 18 and 20, after which the Royalists are still involved in the ACB playoffs. But leaving Doncic during this time is not an option. “He is 100 percent affiliated with Real Madrid,” Buffy assured.
The 19-year-old plays an outstanding season for the Spanish Powerhouse. In the EuroLeague, the Slovenian played 14.7 points, 5.1 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game.
