NBA: Thunder-GM points to where Head Coach Billy Donovan remains

Billy Donovan will probably be on the sideline of the Oklahoma City Thunder again next season. This was suggested by Sam Presti, General Manager of the Thunder. So the head coach’s job seems secure.

“The most important thing will be continuity, Presti told ESPN when asked about Donovan’s job security. “The way our team is built, continuity will be our best friend.”

As last season, the Thunder were eliminated in the first round – a disappointment as Presti admitted. “We were seventh in the net rating and had the ninth-best balance sheet. We are disappointed and we should be. We expected more from this team.”

Nevertheless, the GM OKC believes that it is well positioned for the future with a healthy core. “The possibility that we potentially have Russell Westbrook, Paul George and Steven Adams in their prime is a good thing.”

But this is not certain. Westbrook and Adams are still tied for the long term, but PG-13 can step out of his contract this summer and become a free agent. Like the whole season, rumours recently circulated that George will almost certainly leave the Thunder.
