NFL: Ryan renews Falcons and collects record salary

Matt Ryan has signed a new five-year contract with the Atlanta Falcons. The quarterback earns a record annual salary by 2032.

Ryan signed a $150 million five-year contract. The annual salary of $30 million is a record for a quarterback.

The deal is expected to include a guaranteed payment of $100 million in matching media reports.

Falcon’s GM Thomas Dimitroff declared the contract extension with Ryan for Atlantas Offseason project number one. Franchisee Arthur Blank told ESPN that Ryan would be paid appropriately for his services.

Ryan, third in the 2008 NFL Drag, holds 20 franchise records and has not missed a Falcons game since December 2009. He also holds the NFL record for most games with at least 200 passing yards (64 games).
