MLB: Ryu is missing Dodgers until after the All-Star-Break

Next bad news for the Los Angeles Dodgers: After Shortstop Corey Seager signed off for the rest of the year earlier this week with an elbow injury, it now hits a starter: Hyun-Jin Ryu will be out for weeks with a groin injury.

The Dodgers’ 2-1 victory over Arizona Diamondbacks on Wednesday injured the left-handed player so badly that he will not play again before the All-Star break in mid-July.

Manager Dave Roberts explained that Ryu had torn the muscle off the bone. “It’s a pretty dramatic injury.” By 2016, the Korean had already been out of action for almost a month with a similar injury.

Rookie starter Walker Buehler, who has already made two good starts this season, is expected to take the vacant place in the rotation. “It seems the logical choice,” Roberts told reporters.
