MLB: Gleyber Day! Historic rookie brings Yankees next sweep

The New York Yankees (24-10) continued their impressive winning streak against the Cleveland Indians (17-17) on Sunday with a 7-4 win over the Ohio team and have now won 15 of their last 16 games. This time it took a late comeback including a big hit by Rookie Gleyber Torres.

It was Torres who finished the late rally with a Walk-Off-3-Run-Homerun against Relief Pitcher Dan Otero. Earlier, Neil Walker had equalled Closer Cody Allen 4-4 with an RBI double.

The game looked like a pitcher duel for a long time, as both teams did not make a run over seven innings. Yankees rookie Domingo German even pitched six no-hit innings and managed nine strikeouts (2 BB). He is the first pitcher since at least 1908 who has allowed at least nine strikeouts and no hit in his debut album.

Then Dellin Betances took over, who after a clean inning in the eighth first finished the No-Hitter and finally the Shutout. He allowed three runs, the Indians scored a total of four. But the Yankees came back: Brett Gardner beat an RBI single, then Aaron shortened Judge with an RBI double.

Torres, at 21 years and 144 days, is the youngest player in the history of the Yankees to succeed in a walk-off homun. Previously, Mickey Mantle (21 years, 185 days) held this record.
