NHL: Unbelievable! Golden Knights move into the Conference Finals

The newly founded Vegas Golden Knights actually made it directly into the Conference Finals (semi-finals) in their first NHL season. Coach Gerard Gallant’s team won game 6 3-0 at the San Jose Sharks and thus won 4-2 in the best-of-seven series.

Jonathan Marchessault (27th), Nate Schmidt (36th) and Cody Eakin (59th) scored the goals. Goalie Marc-Andre Fleury made his fourth shutout in the playoffs with 28 saves. “It’s incredible,” Fleury said, “I’m so proud of our team. I’m just proud to be here.”

“We deserve to be in the Conference Finals,” said Coach Gallant: “We played well all season. In round one, the Vegas Golden Knights had defeated the Los Angeles Kings 4-0.

In the second game of the night, Tampa Bay Lightning beat the Boston Bruins 3-1 and won the series 4-1.
