After the three defeats at the start of the tournament, Marco Sturm’s team cannot afford another defeat if hopes of reaching the quarter-finals are not to be buried early.
The German team must continue to fight for the knockout round without NHL professional Tom Kühnhackl. The 26-year-old was “stricken and without a club” and would therefore not travel to Denmark, as the DEB announced on Wednesday.
On Saturday at 12.15 pm the German team will meet the Latvian team in the Herninger Jyske Bank Boxen.
