NBA: Media: Casey in Toronto on the brink of extinction

Dwane Casey, head coach of the Toronto Raptors, has to fear for his job after his 4-0 defeat to the Cleveland Cavaliers. According to media reports, the franchise tends to dismiss him.

This is reported by Josh Lewenberg from TSN. Accordingly, the front office around President Masai Ujiri is considering a fresh breeze on the sideline – which would mean the end for Casey.

The Raptors had played an extremely successful regular season for the third time in a row, but also failed the Cavaliers in the playoffs for the third time in a row. Especially the fact that the team had almost no chance against LeBron James and Co. could be Casey’s fate.

He finished his seventh season as Canadian Head Coach. He has reached the playoffs in the last five years. Measured by his victories in the Regular Season, he is the most successful head coach in franchise history.

Casey’s contract runs until 2019, but Lewenberg expects him and his staff – should the Raptors wish to part with him – to reach an amicable solution with the franchise. Spicy: Casey has a good chance of being named Coach of the Year, as only the Regular Season is decisive for this award.
