NFL: Saints-RB Mark Ingram suspended for four games

Mark Ingram of the New Orleans Saints has been banned for four games. The running back will not be available to the Saints until 1 October due to a violation of the NFL doping guidelines.

Ingram will miss the games against the New York Giants, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Cleveland Browns and Atlanta Falcons. However, the 28-year-old is allowed to play off-season games and training sessions.

NFL network reporter Ian Rapoport reported that the Saints could already count on the punishment for Ingram weeks ago: “They knew before the draft.” According to the report, Ingram had already filed a complaint, but he finally failed on Tuesday evening.

The running back ran 1124 yards for the Saints in the last regular season. This puts Ingram in fifth place in the league.
