NBA: Carlisle denies interest in Bucks-Job

Rick Carlisle was also recently associated with the Milwaukee Bucks. The head coach of the Dallas Mavericks made it clear that he has no interest in this job.

“The rumours that I am interested in working for the Milwaukee Bucks are completely false,” Carlisle texted several journalists, including Marc Stein of the New York Times. “I continue to work for Mark Cuban and the Dallas Mavericks.”

The longtime beatwriter of the Bucks, Gary Woelfel of the Journal Times, had speculated at 105.7FM that Carlisle might be interested in a coaching job in Milwaukee. Woelfel also said Mike Budenholzer and Monty Williams were the favored candidates in Wisconsin.

Carlisle has been training the Dallas Mavericks since 2008, only Gregg Popovich with the San Antonio Spurs and Erik Spoelstra from the Miami Heat are in office longer than Carlisle. The 58-year-old’s biggest success was the 2011 championship, when Dirk Nowitzki and Co. beat Heat in six games.
