NBA: Thunder: George drops out after knee surgery for weeks

Paul George from the Oklahoma City Thunder had knee surgery. This was announced by the franchise. The rehab now lasts several weeks.

According to a Thunder statement, George had a joint endoscopy in his left knee. The procedure went well. PG-13 is now expected to be out of action for six to eight weeks before returning to “normal off-season activities”.

George played 21.9 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists for OKC in his first season. The first round out in the playoffs against Utah Jazz, however, is considered a disappointment.

Meanwhile, the future of the wingman is uncertain. Should he fail to withdraw his $20.7 million player option for the coming season, he will be Unrestricted Free Agent next summer. The Lakers, among others, are considered interested.
