How do the Boston Celtics defend against LeBron James? According to Marcus Morris, this is quite easy. However, the Forward sees itself as the best solution in the entire league with the exception of Kawhi Leonard from the San Antonio Spurs.
“I think I’m the best defender against LeBron, except Kawhi Leonard,” Morris confidently admitted to Chris Forsberg of ESPN. The forward has already made his experiences with James in the playoffs. In 2016 Morris was part of the Detroit Pistons, which were swept by the Cavs in the first round.
“I’m a little older and more experienced now,” Morris added. “That show was a lot of fun back then. “I was able to stand up to one of the best players.”
However, Morris is also aware that LeBron will find ways to score points. “One man can’t stop him,” the Celtics forward knows. “He’s the best player in the world. My task will be to prevent the easy points, his teammates must not score. They may not have 30 or 20 point games. “If we prevent this, we have a good chance.”
However, Morris does not believe that the task will put a mental strain on him. “I’ve never been at the point where an opponent has broken my morale with incredible throws,” Morris continued. “I think, but Toronto fell apart because of James.”
The Celtics have the home advantage thanks to the better regular season. Game 1 takes place on Sunday at 21:30 (at LIVESTREAM FOR FREE on SPOX).
