Russia is still one of the big favourites at the Ice Hockey World Championship 2018 in Denmark. The Sbornaja plays a sovereign preliminary round in Group A and can even become group winners. Slovakia, on the other hand, need every point to push Switzerland out of fourth place and reach the quarter-finals. SPOX is getting you in the mood for today’s game (4.15pm live on DAZN) and tells you where you can watch the game on the live stream.
At the beginning of the World Cup, the Russian national ice hockey team swept through Group A. The Sbornaja won one canters victory after the other. Three victories and 20:0 goals were scored by Russia after the first three group matches. But then the Russian engine came to a standstill.
A 3-4 bankruptcy after overtime against the Czech Republic was followed by a narrow 4-3 victory over Switzerland. However, the Sobornaja still need to win the group in the remaining two matches against Slovakia and Sweden. Slovakia, on the other hand, need every counter to pass Switzerland and win their quarter-final ticket.
The duel between Sbornaya and Slovakia increases at 16.15 in the capital Copenhagen. All preliminary round games of Group A will take place there.
