MLB: Brewers put Braun with back problems on Disabled List

The Milwaukee Brewers have put Outfielder Ryan Braun on the 10-Day Disabled List. He had been complaining of back problems for several days.

Since Braun had already missed the complete three-game series against the Arizona Diamondbacks from Tuesday to Thursday, the move is retroactive to Monday. This would allow Braun to be reactivated on May 24.

Who will take the now vacant place in the 25-player squad of the Brewers is still unclear. The team will not announce a decision until Friday.

Braun, who is also playing on first base for the first time this year, has so far beaten .222 with five home runs and 20 RBI.

In his career, the six-time all-star has so far hit 307 home runs, collected 1009 RBI and has a strike average of .300 in twelve seasons in the MLB. He was also named National League Rookie of the Year in 2007 and won the NL MVP Award in 2001.

All results of the night you will find in our new MLB Scoreboard.
