NBA: Phoenix Suns are now considering trading the first pick of the drag

Ryan McDonough, General Manager of the Phoenix Suns, told the Draft Lottery that the franchise does not intend to trade the top pick. Now the GM explained that the Suns will listen to offers for the first Pick 2018.

“We are open to it and will look at our options,” McDonough told Adrian Wojnarowski when asked if the first pick is available. “We will soon have more information on the draft. There are some players for whom we would give the pick, so pick by player.”

At the same time McDonough made it clear that the Suns would not only decide between Deandre Ayton and Luka Doncic. He specifically addressed a meeting with Marvin Bagley II.

“People jump to conclusions when they say we only have one or two people on the radar. There are more,” assured GM. “We meet with Bagley and then there are boys like Mohamed Bamba and Michael Porter Jr.

The Suns have their first pick in their 50-year franchise history and are looking for the third cornerstone for their team. So far the core consists mainly of Guard Devin Booker and Forward Josh Jackson.
