NBA: Chris Paul injured late – questionable for game 6

The Houston Rockets’ victory over the Golden State Warriors in Game 5 was associated with a bitter aftertaste. Chris Paul injured himself in the last minute of the game and could possibly drop out for game 6.

Paul grabbed his thigh 51 seconds before the end, having previously assigned a runner and Cook subsequently stepped on his foot. The Guard limped back after a while, but could not continue.

Coach Mike D’Antoni could not give an update on the state of CP3 at the press conference. “We will examine him tomorrow,” said D’Antoni. “He’s a tough guy, and we’ll try anything. If he can play, fine, otherwise we’ll have enough guys. That won’t be a problem.”

Paul scored 18 of his 20 points in game 5 in the second half and also contributed 7 rebounds and 6 assists to the 98:94 victory. The Point God was already struggling with foot problems at the beginning of the series, but according to Paul, things had improved in the games in Oakland.
