NBA: Use of CP3 in Game 7 “unlikely

Chris Paul’s involvement with the Houston Rockets in Game 7 of the Western Finals is reportedly unlikely. The head coaches on both sides deeply regretted this fact.

ESPN insider Adrian Wojnarowski writes that sources have been passed on to him which report that an application of CP3 in game 7 is “unlikely”, even if hard work is being done to ensure that things will still turn out differently.

Paul had pulled a thigh strain in the final seconds of game 5, which had pulled him out of circulation. Game 6 the Warriors now won clearly with 115:86.

Paul had travelled with the team to support it elsewhere. Rockets coach Mike D’Antoni said: “Our doctors are here too, so he gets the necessary treatments. He just didn’t want to miss anything – because he worked his whole career to get this far. And we need him here.”

D’Antoni is also convinced that CP3 is internally destroyed. “He must be. And we feel for him.” Nevertheless, caution will be exercised and it will only be allowed to play if it is justifiable. “We’ll see what happens. “The body always heals at different speeds, so you never know.”

His opponent Steve Kerr would also prefer Paul to stand on the court. It is “a disgrace that this is not the case. I’m very sorry for him. He is a phenomenal player and has carried his team the last two games. Unfortunately, such injuries have been inflicted on him throughout his entire career. I hate it when someone gets hurt.”
