NFL: Seahawks sign Wide Receiver Brandon Marshall

The Seattle Seahawks have signed veteran Brandon Marshall. The 34-year-old wide receiver was released by the New York Giants last month after only one season.

With the Seahawks, Marshall’s height of 1.93 metres could compensate for Tight End Jimmy Graham’s departure and become a crucial Red Zone weapon for the Seahawks. For that, however, he would have to remain injury-free.

In the New York Giants, Marshall missed most of the regular season due to a ankle injury, scoring only 18 passes and 154 yards in five games. Already in its last season with the New York Jets, the aging wide receiver was not able to continue its strong performance from the previous year 2015 (1502 YDS, 14 TD).

Marshall has been nominated for the Pro Bowl six times in his career, but has not yet played a playoff game. The Seahawks, on the other hand, missed the post season for the first time in five years.
