NFL: Cleveland Browns: Damarious Randall sets social media record

A Twitter post could cost Damarious Randall dearly. The arrival of the Cleveland Browns has caused record-breaking reactions with his mail.

In the wake of the Cleveland Cavaliers’ victory over the Boston Celtics, Safety tweeted that in case of the championship for the Cavs he would buy a Jersey for anyone who saved the tweet. The tweet stands at more than 900,000 retweets on Thursday morning. An absolute record for an NFL player.

Should the Cavaliers create a surprise, Randall must seriously consider how he intends to approach his plan. But on Wednesday after practice he didn’t want to raise expectations too high: “We’ll talk about it when the series is over”.

Randall was traded to the Browns by the Green Bay Packers during this offseason and is now making his first acquaintance with the fan base. “I definitely didn’t expect Cleveland’s fan base to react this crazy,” Randall said. “Of course it was a joke. But seeing how passionate this fan base is is really motivating.”
