MLB: Russel Wilson wants to bring team to Portland

Seattleeahawks quarterback Russell Wilson plans to bring an MLB team to Portland. Together with his wife Ciara, he wants to be the owner, investor and partner of the project.

“I’m honored to announce that me and Ciara are partners in the Portland Diamond Project. We want to bring an MLB team to Portland,” he announced. As the headquarters of Nike, Portland is predestined as a sports location.

With the project we will ensure that every child in this country has the opportunity to learn sportsmanship and competition. Irrespective of skin color and economic status, every child deserves an equal chance at the resources it needs to play.”

Wilson was also a gifted baseball player in his youth and was even drafted by the Colorado Rockies for their Class A team in 2010.
