NFL: Browns Sign Super Bowl Champion Mychal Kendricks

The Cleveland Browns have signed Linebacker Mychal Kendricks. The 27-year-old had only been released by the Philadelphia Eagles on June 1.

According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Kendricks will receive a one-year contract with the Browns. In Ohio he will support the linebacker rotation around Joe Schobert, Jamie Collins and Christian Kirksey.

The Eagles, of whom Kendricks was eliminated in the second round in 2012, saved six million dollars in cap space after the June 1 cut.

In six years with the reigning Super Bowl champion, Kendricks started in 74 of 85 games. In these he was responsible for 459 tackles, 14 sacks, six forced fumbles and three interceptions.
