NBA: Durant on Free Agency: “Anything can happen…”

Kevin Durant spoke about his upcoming Freee Agency and stressed that anything is possible in the NBA. However, he continues to assume that he will remain with the Golden State Warriors. He also commented on the rumors surrounding LeBron James.

“I think I’ll play here again next year,” Durant said in an interview with USA Today. “Of course, some contractual and financial matters need to be settled, but I plan to stay here. I’ve said that before this year.”

However, KD limited: “This is the NBA. So anything can happen – you just know that when you’ve been in the league as long as I have.”

Durant also spoke about the recent rumors by ESPN insider Steven A. Smith that LeBron James (who is also expected to become a free agent) will also hear offers from the Warriors in the coming offseason. KD: “Really? I have no idea. Anyone can speculate. But I don’t believe in that. I don’t believe in anything in this league until it really happens.”

The 29-year-old emphasized that he would not interfere in the front office’s decision-making powers either, as he trusted them 100 percent. “You just know best what’s best for the team, the Locker Room.”

KD leads 3-0 with the Warriors in the finals against the Cavaliers. 43 points in Cleveland meant he had practically won match 3 on his own. Theoretically, he still has a $26.2 million player option for the coming season in Oakland, but he’s already announced that he won’t pull it, making him an Unrestricted Free Agent.
