MLB: Angels-Schock: ShoTime is out for several weeks

The Los Angeles Angels have put superstar Shohei Ohtani on the Disabled List. The Japanese injured his right elbow, the team announced on Friday evening.

Ohtani was removed from the field on Wednesday against the Kansas City Royals after the fourth inning. At first, a bubble was suspected on the right middle finger, which would have put the 23-year-old out of action only for Wednesday’s game in Seattle.

However, the examination revealed a straining of the outer ligament at the right elbow joint. The Angels expect a loss of at least three weeks.

“When he left the field, his bubble was traded. When the adrenaline in his body went down, he said his elbow hurt a little,” said Angel’s GM Billy Eppler.
