Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors has already collected five technical fouls in this year’s playoffs, and he would be banned from a game if he had two more. However, he does not want to change his style of play in the upcoming games.
“I don’t really care,” Green said at Media Day, referring to the imminent ban. “I go into the game with the attitude that it will be the last anyway. So I have two technical fouls left to play.”
The Warriors are leading 3-0 in the finals series and can perfect the sweep and thus the second title in one piece during the night on Saturday.
Green believes that a cautious playing style to avoid a technical foul would do the warriors as much harm as a possible suspension in a later game. Green: “No technical foul can stop me from being the player I am. “If a technical foul can do it, I’ll probably get the second one and fly off the field.”
Green was suspended for the fifth game in the 2016 finals, which helped the Cavaliers make their historic comeback after trailing 1-3. At that time it was not about technical fouls, but about the number of flagrant fouls.
