NBA: Durant: “… the NBA pays me too little money for that”

Finals MVP Kevin Durant has defended himself against the accusations of endangering the balance of the NBA with his move to the Golden State Warriors. Because he gets too little money for that.

“I’m only responsible for myself and my abilities,” Durant tells Yahoo Sports. “I’m not worried about the NBA. That’s her job. They earn so much money – and they pay too little for me to dictate them. “I would have to get more money if all this is to be my responsibility.”

KD added: “I only care about the team I play for. All the other things are none of my business. That’s the job of all of you.”

Durant had won the second consecutive championship with the Warriors after moving from the Oklahoma City Thunder to the Bay Area in 2016. Both times he also won the finals MVP. In the upcoming offseason he will become Unrestricted Free Agent, as he waives his game option for the 2018/19 season – however, he has already announced his intention to stay with the dubs.
