All-Star Kevin Love wishes to end his career alongside superstar LeBron James. However, the 29-year-old explains that he could imagine staying in Ohio without James.
“Of course I would like to play with LeBron (James) for the rest of my career,” Love told Matthew Florjancic of WKYC. “But that’s a decision he has to make himself.”
Regardless of James’ decision, the center can imagine staying with the Cavs. “People have been saying that for four years and I knew this question would come,” Love told possible trade rumors. “But I like being here. I’ve always said that. I always wanted to win here.”
However, if James doesn’t pull his player option and hires in the Free Agency with another team, this could have far-reaching consequences for Love. “They will make Kevin Love fully available,” ESPN’s Brian Windhorst The Hoop Collective reported. “I bet they’ll try to get him a first-round pick.”
Love signed a five-year, $113 million Max contract in Cleveland in 2015. For the next two seasons, the Californian earns 24.2 (2018/19) and 25.6 million dollars (2019/20). In summer 2020 Love will then become Unrestricted Free Agent at the age of 31.
