Dennis Rodman moved the meeting between US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un to tears in Singapore on Tuesday.
“It’s a big day. I’m here to witness it. I’m so happy,” said the five-time NBA winner and started crying in front of the CNN camera.
Rodman, a friend of Kim’s, is happy about the conversation between the two rulers: “I told everyone: the door will open. It’s incredible, it’s incredible, it’s incredible,” says the 57-year-old.
Rodman said he had received “so many death threats after returning from North Korea. I had to hide for 30 days. But I stayed positive. I knew things would change. I knew it. The only one.”
On his arrival in Singapore, Rodman wore a red cap with Trump’s campaign slogan and the inscription “Make America Great Again.
For Rodman, Kim is a “big child, although he is small. He loves to have a good time.”
The White House recently ruled out Rodman’s involvement in the talks. However, the former NBA professional said he had been contacted by the US government.
