Three playoff teams provided the NFC South in the pre-season – is this yield repeatable? What about the bucs who were so disappointed last season? Can the Atlanta Falcons take the next step? Can the Saints win another title run with Drew Brees? And what will the new offense in Carolina look like?
SPOX NFL editor Adrian Franke and presenter Christoph Kröger have jointly developed the Down, Set, Talk! Podcast founded. The focus will be on weekly analyses and tactical backgrounds as well as current events and fantasy football.
In the new issue, the Offseason Division series continues: Each individual division is examined in detail, additions and disposals, the draft and the outlook are discussed. Let’s go with NFC South!
Here’s the current episode on iTunes, here on Spotify.
The New Orleans Saints had one of the most explosive offenses in the league last season – and only a completely crazy finish against the Vikings stood between them and the Championship Game. Can New Orleans attack again with Drew Brees? Or at least the division title will go to the Falcons, who should offer a young, aggressive defense and be more stable under Steve Sarkisian in year 2.
Both teams are among the title contenders – and the two division rivals fall at least into the play-off category, which makes South perhaps the strongest division in the NFL as a whole.
The Panthers attack with a new offense, also the defense has a new coordinator. The potential is enormous with Cam Newton, D.J. Moore, Christian McCaffrey, Kawann Short, Luke Kuechly and Co. Can the Panthers do this constantly? That’s also the big question for the bucs – who have everything on paper after a disappointing pre-season to play for the playoffs.
