NBA: Puma wins Jay-Z and commits Ayton/Bagley

Jay-Z is the new creative director of Puma’s basketball edition. In addition, the company in Deandre Ayton, Marvin Bagley and Zhaire Smith could sign three potential lottery picks of the upcoming drag.

“We’ve been working with Roc Nation a little longer,” Marketing Director Adem Petrick told Complex. “You’ve been a good partner and we’ve done several projects with you.”

A few hours earlier, Puma had announced that they had secured three potential draft lottery picks with Ayton, Bagley and Zhaire Smith. Ayton might even be the top pick, while Bagley will probably be in the top five.

“It was important to Jay-Z that we were serious, and we showed that with these players’ commitments,” added Petrick. “We’ve made a statement that we want to compete at the highest level.”

Puma hasn’t been a factor in the NBA in recent years. The last renowned athlete to be equipped by Puma was Vince Carter, who signed a ten-year contract in 1998 but dissolved it after only two years.
