NBA: Cavs want to keep Love independent of LeBron

The Cleveland Cavaliers are obviously interested in keeping Kevin Love in their squad. Regardless of whether LeBron James stays or not.

This is reported by ESPN. According to this, the Cavs Love do not offer in the trade window, as other rumours in the past suggested. Instead, the franchise is interested in Love playing for them next season as well.

The Power Forward contract runs until 2020, the last year of which includes a $25.59 million player option. Theoretically, Love could become an unrestricted free agent as early as 2019.

However, the 29-year-old is likely to welcome the latest developments concerning his personality with sympathy: He had recently stressed that he wanted to end his career as a Cavalier player. And preferably with LeBron by his side.
