NBA: Porzingis encourages Knox after Buhrufen

Kevin Knox was mercilessly booed by New York Knicks fans on draft night when his name was called. Kristaps Porzingis still knows this feeling from 2015 and advises Knox to regard the booing as motivation.

“Kristaps asked me what the fans’ reaction was and I told him that I got as many booing calls as he did back then,” Knox reported at his presentation. Knox wasn’t quite right about that, however, when the Knicks Porzingis selected 4th place in the Draft 2015, their reactions were much stronger than those of the former Kentucky player.

Nevertheless, Porzingis was amused by the fact that even Knox’s choice was not well received by many Knicks fans. “He just laughed at it,” Knox continued of his conversation with the Latvian. “He told me that I should see it as motivation to keep working hard. Then the fans will cheer me on sometime.”

Meanwhile, the new Knicks coach, David Fizdale, seems to be very fond of the former Wildcats player. At the press conference after the draft, Fizdale did not want to rule out that Knox could start the coming season at one of the two forward spots.
