NBA: Trade! Austin Rivers for Gortat to the Wizards

Austin Rivers was traded to the Washington Wizards by the Los Angeles Clippers. In return, Marcin Gortat moved to L.A.

Both franchises have now confirmed this. Rivers played three and a half seasons for the Clippers under his father and head coach Doc Rivers. Last season he scored 15.1 points and 4 assists on average – both career highs.

Now he is moving to the capital with his expiring contract (12.6 million dollars for next season). In return, the Wizards Center sends Marcin Gortat to L.A. – they have probably been looking for a team to take on the center for a long time.

His contract also expires in 2019, earning around $13.5 million next season. In 2017/18 he played 8.4 points and 7.6 rebounds in 82 games.
