NBA: Media: George drops out of OKC contract

Paul George has reportedly told the Oklahoma City Thunder media that he will resign from his contract. This turns him into an unrestricted free agent.

This is reported by ESPN insider Adrian Wojnarowski. According to this, PG-13 informed the franchise on Thursday about his decision.

George has a $20.7 million player option for next season in his current contract. Since he renounces this, he becomes Unrestricted Free Agent. Next Friday the deadline for the option would have expired, next Sunday the Free Agency will start.

However, this does not mean saying goodbye to the Thunder. George was still interested in signing a new contract in OKC. But a change to the Lakers, Sixers or Rockets should not be ruled out either.
