NBA: Media: George signs maximum contract in OKC

According to media reports, Free Agent Paul George has decided to stay with the Oklahoma City Thunder. He’s supposed to get a maximum contract.

This is reported by ESPN insider Adrian Wojnarowski. According to this, the Thunder agreed a four-year contract worth 134 million dollars with George at the start of the Free Agency on Sunday.

This sum corresponds to the maximum salary for a player with George’s experience. The fourth year of the contract shall include a player option. So by 2021 PG-13 could become an unrestricted free agent again.

George had come by trade from the Indiana Pacers last summer. It was then assumed that he would only play in OKC for a year, as he would then switch to his dream franchise, the Los Angeles Lakers. Now things turned out differently.

This deal is not official yet, as players and the franchise may only agree orally until the end of the moratorium on July 7.
