NBA: Pelicans secure Randle of the Lakers

The New Orleans Pelicans have secured the services of Julius Randle. The Foward couldn’t agree on a new contract with the Los Angeles Lakers before.

According to ESPN insider Adrian Wojnarowski, Randle will sign a contract with the Pelicans for two years and 18 million dollars. Randle confirmed on Twitter that he’s going to New Orleans.

Previously, he was under contract with the Lakers and had become a restricted free agent. However, he could not reach an agreement with L.A. on further cooperation, which is why the franchise waived the rights to him.

The 23-year-old Power Forward has four years of NBA experience. Last season he put on 16.1 points and 8 rebounds.

In NOLA he complements the front court with superstar Anthony Davis. Randle won’t have to fight for minutes with DeMarcus’ cousins – Boogie will tie his sneakers for the Golden State Warriors.
