Alpine Skiing: Hirscher continues: “I am motivated, but…”

Ski record holder Marcel Hirscher continues his successful career. On Wednesday, the seven-time overall World Cup winner explained during his summer talk at the Fuschlsee Castle Fishery that he was preparing for winter as usual.

After the end of such a successful past season, the 29-year-old from Salzburg took a few months to announce his future plans. “I’m motivated to race. It goes on. I’m not ready to stop,” Hirscher said.

“I’ve done a lot of post-processing, thinking, preparing. It will be a season with Marcel, in what form, I can’t say,” he added.

The two-time Olympic champion, six-time world champion and winner of 58 World Cup victories married his long-time girlfriend Laura Moisl in June, and the two are expecting their first child in September.

The World Cup winter starts with the giant slalom on 28 October in Sölden, the highlight is the World Cup in February 2019 in Aare.
