NBA: Media: Wizards sign Center Howard

Center Dwight Howard is reportedly switching to the Washington Wizards. He had previously agreed a buyout with the Brooklyn Nets.

This is reported by Jared Weiss of The Athletic. According to the report, negotiations between Howard and the Nets on a buyout have been concluded, which is why he has become a free agent. As such, he will obviously go to the Washington Wizards.

There he is to receive a one-year contract for the midlevel exception (a good $5 million). Capitalists have a need for the Five as they sold their previous starting center Marcin Gortat in a trade with the Clippers for Guard Austin Rivers about a week ago.

32-year-old Howard played for Charlotte Hornets last season and averaged 16.6 points and 12.5 rebounds. A few weeks ago, however, he was traded to the Nets, but they were only interested in the expiring contract of the Bigs and have now separated from him again.
