NBA: Media: Rockets could lose Capela

Clint Capela and the Houston Rockets are currently in contract negotiations. According to media reports, however, these have so far not gone well and the talented center is in danger of leaving.

Sportando reports. Meetings took place between the Rockets and Camp Capelas in Los Angeles. But these did not go well – it is said that Capela was disappointed by the offers of the Texans.

He is therefore now considering accepting the Rockets’ qualifying offer (QO) of around 4.7 million dollars. This would extend his current rookie contract by one year and make him an unrestricted free agent in 2019. If he rejects the QO, as is usual with players of his format, he becomes a restricted free agent.

Sportando also reports that there are already several teams that have heard about the developments and have contacted Capela. They are said to have assured him that they will offer him a maximum contract in 2019. But the Rockets don’t want to afford one for the Swiss this summer.
