NBA: Born Reday about LBJ: “It’s funny we’re on a team”

For years, Lance Stephenson and LeBron James have been a little rivalry, now they’re in the Los Angeles Lakers squad together. Born Ready enjoys this, but the Guard is also looking forward to the exciting project.

“It’s funny we’re both on the same team now,” Stephenson said in a conference call. “I’m very excited to see how it works when I can play next to him, one of the best players in the world. This is gonna be incredible.”

James and Stephenson often met, especially in the Indiana Pacers’ weddings, when Miami and Indiana were the best teams in the Eastern Conference. According to Born Ready, it was LeBron’s camp that contacted the Guard after the Pacers did not take the option for Stephenson.

The former high school star was surprised that James even moved to the City of Angels. “I think he needed the change. “That he now wanted me makes me happy and shows that he likes my game.”

Stephenson played 9.2 points and 2.9 assists per game for the Pacers last season as Sixth Man. Indiana ultimately failed in the first round playoffs against Cleveland Cavalires and James after seven hard-fought games.
