MLB: Participant field for derby is set

After long speculations the participants of the MLB Homerun Derby 2018 are now fixed. As expected, the eight-man field will be led by Bryce Harper of the host Washington Nationals.

The special thing about this year’s field is that everyone except Harper will be debuting at the derby. Harper himself competed in the derby at CitiField in New York in 2013.

Among the participants are Max Muncy and Rhys Hoskins, two who were not even called into the All-Star Game.

As usual, a seed list determines the tournament tree. The list was determined by the number of home runs this season with Wednesday as the deadline. With the same number of home runs, the home run number of the player in the MLB since June 15 was used as the tiebreaker.

This article was published without previous view by the Major League Baseball.
