The knockout phase in Las Vegas has begun and Isaiah Hartenstein has kept his clean record with the Houston Rockets. The Hawks make a comeback win thanks to Trae Young, and Wendell Carter once again makes a strong impression on the Bulls.
That was the first round of the knockout phase in the Summer League.
Points: Devin Robinson (26) – Reggie Upshaw (24)
Rebounds: Devin Robinson (11) – Angel Delgado (10)
Assists: Chris Chiozza (5) – Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Sindarius Thornwell (6)
Dominant idea of the Clippers. Already in the first quarter the team from Los Angeles moved away to 15 points, after that this lead was successfully managed and partly extended throughout the game. Apart from the strong Devin Robinson (26 points, 11 rebounds, 9/13 FG), the Wizards lacked most of the means, Aaron Harrison (12 points, 2/10 FG) and Troy Brown Jr. (10, 4/13 FG) had to work more than hard for their points. Washington only hit 38.2 percent out of the field.
This looked much better with the Clippers (44.3), which also had to do with the solid playmaking of No.11 pick Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (17 points, 8/16 FG, 6 assists). Also No.13 pick Jerome Robinson liked with 15 points and 3/6 from the triple line. Best man at the Clippers, who will play the Lakers next, was Reggie Upshaw with 24 points and 9 rebounds.
Points: Collin Sexton (25) – Justin Jackson (20)
Rebounds: Jamel Artis, Okaro White (7) – Zach Auguste (9)
Assists: Colin Sexton (7) – Harry Giles (6)
That’s exactly what the Cavs want to see from their No.8 pick. Collin Sexton led Cleveland against Sacramento from the start with a very strong offensive performance (25 points, 9/15 FG, 7 assists in only 25 minutes) and was mainly responsible for the Cavs pulling away in the first quarter. Sacramento came back in the second quarter when Sexton was on the bench, but Cleveland dominated the game almost at will.
Besides Sexton, Jamel Artis (14 points) and Okaro White (13) showed good performances on the Cavs side, while Ante Zizic and Cedi Osman were allowed to take a break. Justin Jackson (20 points, but only 7/24 FG), Zach Auguste (19) and Wenyen Garbiel (15) liked the Kings, who again had to play without Marvin Bagley.
Points: Danuel House (18) – Milton Doyle (21)
Rebounds: Danuel House (8) – Jarrett Allen (11)
Assists: De’Anthony Melton (4) – Milton Doyle (6)
After his injury break in his previous match against the Clippers, Isaiah Hartenstein returned to the lineup and helped his Rockets to his fourth consecutive victory in Las Vegas. The German started on Center and delivered very solid 10 points, 5 rebounds and 2 blocks (5/7 FG) in 18 minutes, fitting seamlessly into a really strong Rockets team. Seven players scored in double figures, with Danuel House (18), Zhou Qi and De’Anthony Melton (both 17) attracting particular attention.
The Nets’ Milton Doyle took the lead with 21 points and 6 assists from the bank, but he could not prevent Brooklyn from losing the fourth match in Vegas. In the consolation round, the Nets can now play Indiana, while Houston will continue to play Cleveland.
